Charles Dickens (February 7, 1812 – June 9, 1870) was a renowned writer of England. His writings were very famous at that time. The readers of his stories were of various status. But he was sure that his tales were much evidently for the common people.
The thing is about when his reputation had started to spread throughout the country. He used to recite his creations to numerous people around. Among the listeners, the majority were the usual individuals. He had thousands of followers then.
With the gradual uprising of Charles Dickens, the Queen of England during the time, Her Majesty Victoria also heard the praises of his talent on story writing and telling. The queen also grew avid to listen to Dickens’s creations and ordered her employee to call for him. Shortly after receiving the queen’s order, her server went for finding Charles Dickens. It wasn’t hard to find him. The server told Dickens about the queen’s wish and requested him come with him. Dickens agreed to go the palace as requested. When Dickens was presented in front of the Queen by her servant, she exhibited her wish to listen to his creations.
Dickens then told the queen – “It is a great privilege for me that Her Majesty the Queen have wished to listen to my creations. But, I have a few conditions. If really the Queen wants to listen to my stories, she has to be on the place when I am reciting my writings to the common people. Forgive me your Majesty, but I don’t write for the Palace. I write for the ordinary people.” The Queen was surprised with Dickens’s words but she didn’t say anything. In the meantime, Dickens asked Queen for the permission to leave and quickly made his way to his house.
