Once during such times, he was travelling by the train. His assistant had brought him a first class ticket. But when he reached his seat on the first class, a sick person was laying in his seat. He thought it would be unwise to remove the sick from the seat. He asked for ticket with the patient and in return gave out his ticket to him. As the patient’s ticket was of third class, he went and got seated accordingly. Since he was feeling sleepy, he covered himself with a blanket and slept. He fell into deep sleep with minutes.
After a while, the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) arrived. Seeing the passengers asleep, he upbraidingly woke them up. Listening to the TTE’s voice, Shastri awoke and stood up. Seeing Shastri, the TTE was alarmed. He immediately recognized the short statured figure to be Minister Shastri. He hastily pardoned Shastri and promised him to take to the first class. After listening this, Shastri responded- “Hey Brother, Why are you interrupting my sleep? I am very sleepy so let me rest at my will.” He covered back himself with blanket and went to sleep.
