When the world famous British Scientist, writer and historian H.G. Wells (September 21, 1866 – August 13, 1946) was still a child, his mother worked as a domestic servant. After growing up, Wells earned enormous wealth. He built a huge multi storied mansion.

Once to a friend who had come to his house, he showed the chambers and rooms. Showing a very decorated and luxurious room, Wells said- “This is my servant’s room.” Reaching the next floor, showing an ordinary room he said- “Me and my family members live here.”

His friend was astonished. He was in utter confusion that Wells lived in such a ordinary room and had the marvelous room given to the server. Unable to conceal his thoughts to himself, at the end he asked- “Wells, please tell me one thing. Why have you given such a beautiful room to your server while you yourself live in such ordinary one? Why you don’t live yourself in the luxurious room downstairs?”

Wells seem thoughtful and calm listening to his friend. He said- “My dear friend, I consider my servant to be more important than me. They are dear to me than myself.” “Why is it like that?” his friend asks again. “Because when I was a child, my mother was also a servant of someone.” His friend became silent and thoughtful listening to Wells.
