What could be the outcome of self-destructing habits? Earn a few of these, and you can easily turn life into a catastrophe, or at least bury your productivity.
Check out which of the following pits you fit in?
Last-minute-itis
Everything gets fixed at the last minute.

The internet owes “gracias” for the twisted word. Also Hollywood, for the final-minute dramas— heroic entries, superpowers, hidden friends, etc.
Unfortunately, no magic happens in reality. There will be nobody to carry your burden in the final minute. Preparations, schedules, and timings give better outcomes instead.
Last-minute-itis is one good way to doom your progress. Cheers!
Put your health at last

Health demands balanced food, adequate exercise, and timely rest. It also demands you to pray, meditate and cheer up in the green.
But health doesn’t stand first on the priority list. Your priority is to earn more wealth. Second on priority are — entertainment, sports, social media, and others.
Why is health on the least of priorities — all because you think it will never happen to you.
Until it does, unfortunately.
Well, you should identify better ways to bless your enemies.
Build the relationship complex
From the news — a young man from China managed to befriend 17 girlfriends at once. He successfully kept them happy until they found out. The girls later sued him for fraudulence.
That is an exception.

Casual relationships — not often but most are strenuous.
Unhealthy relationships result in prolonged anxiety and stress. It fires up cortisol and epinephrine to fight such emergence. Health apart, it soaks all the productive time and energy.
Choose your partners wisely. It’s not only about aesthetics.
Doctor yourself
The smartest doctor in the world is — Dr. Google.
Enter your symptoms, and Dr. Google will guess you with a disease. It will also recommend treatments. Given an exemption to buy medicines without a prescription, you’d never have to see a real doctor.
Even Dr. Trump in the past prescribed Hydroxychloroquine to his COVID patients — and people died of its overdose.
Unless you want blessings from Satan, don’t play patient with google.
Be a flat-thinker

An incident — extreme turbulences were felt in a flight passing through a storm cloud. Panicked, a man dipped in sweat woke up his next-seat partner, who also happened to be an ex-pilot.
He asked — “How can you peacefully sleep when there is so much turbulence?”
The ex-pilot calmly replied — “Don’t panic! coz it’s the only best thing you can do right now.”
The loop of negative thoughts, anxiety, and fear obscures your mind. It confines your understanding and keeps you from choosing the best possible action.
Author Lailah Gifty Akita writes— “The great poverty is negative thinking.” You’re welcome if you want to keep contributing to poverty.
Live inside a cocoon
What is inside your reel world — daydreams.
You’re the actor, director, producer, and audience in it. The story flows as per your wish — and has a happy climax.

Boom! Back to reality. Everything is gone. After an hour of daydreaming — all you achieve is a disturbed mind and a lethargic body.
If you are productive in your dreams, you’ll certainly be in reality, only when you give it a try.
Or if you want your dreams to die, the daydream cocoon is always around you.
Your social software

You are the last generation to know how life was before social media arrived.
In the beginning, social media solved a few problems. Then, it brought even more. To the brain, social media creates a buzz — a drug-like stimulating effect.
Endless scrolling, negativity, over-information, show-off, and idealization are the new normal. There is no cure, but cutting off the screen time helps. Let your brain breathe for a while.
Overindulgence in social media is the best way to kill productivity. Now go get a thumbs up on Fakebook.
No higher objectives
It’s time to think critically.

Why do you have a graduate degree?…………………………………. Silence!!!
Believe me! It’s not just the money you want. You must have something to contribute to the world. If not, set your objectives right away, or you’re going to get lost in the chaos.
Life and goals without objectives will blow out like the big bang — directionless.
A purpose is the only thing to keep you driven in life. Define it. Find it. It’s never too late to start being motivated.
No deadlines
Photo by mostafa mahmoudi on Unsplash |
Nobody has infinite time unless you’re Jupiter himself.
Life gives you 40 million minutes of playtime. See, there’s a deadline.
Focus; put your important tasks beforehand, and finish them off. Every minute counts.
If your goal has no deadline, you’ll never achieve it. It’s because you waste time doing all the unimportant tasks. In other words, if a task doesn’t come with a deadline, it’s not important.
Small steps and the progress
Photo by Derek Thomson on Unsplash |
Believe in the Kaizen way — smaller steps lead to bigger success.
Neil Armstrong learned to walk on Earth before he walked on the moon. Thomas Alba Edison worked as a railroad trainboy before revolutionizing the world with his inventions.
Consistent progress at a snail’s pace is still progress. And slow progress is always better than no progress.
How to self-destruct your productivity — stay stagnant.
Be at two places at once
Men cannot do two things at once, not even one neatly. Still, they boast they’re multitaskers.
D. Materson says — “Fuc**** two things at the same is not multitasking.”
If there are too many goals, focus on the most important ones. It will render you the best output. You can’t fill two glasses equally at the same time.
Be productive; not just busy.
Empower your monkey mind
What travels faster than light………….. Thoughts!

If you have no control over your thoughts, you cannot complete any attention-demanding tasks.
It is the nature of the mind to wander away from important things.
Besides, there are temptations like — social media, pornography, infidelity, and flares of drugs/ nicotine that make you surrender easy.
These temptations are the lovely parking spaces on your road to progress. It’s up to you whether you park your progress and capture the bliss, or keep moving and find your destiny.
