Nature has its ways to express. In the east, signs of nature are believed to relay messages from nature.

Failure to perceive these messages can bring difficulties, misfortune, illness, and death. But buried inside the superstitions are the senses that could help us live a better life.

We will try to find logic inside the myths in our journey.

#1. The money plant turning yellow

Myth:

If the money plant keeps green, it’s a good sign. If it turns yellowish or appears dying- alert. That’s a bad omen. Something bad is going to happen in the house.

Logic:

Money plants are indoor plants. They neither don’t need sunlight to stay green. They turn yellow when excess sunlight desiccates them. It could also happen when they are short of nutrients from the water you dipped in. So if your money plant is turning yellow, keep it away from the sun. Plant it in the soil, and see how it gains back the greenery.

#2. Unknown stress (Anxiety)

Myth:

If there is unknown anxiety consuming you, something worse is onset. There will be mishappenings or you will become seriously ill.

Logic:

Anxiety is not a good thing. Sometimes, after a stressful phase of life, the rudiments of stress might continue. You might feel tensed but may not know the reason. Can’t deny that there could be a disease building inside of you and attracting the stress hormones. So if there is unknown anxiety, see a doctor beforehand.

The best cure for it is prevention.

#3. Losing precious wearing

Myth:

Losing precious things attract misfortunes, mishappening, or a diversion in relationships and life. It’s a bad omen.

Logic:

Losing gold, silver or more precious things is already a misfortune. But even bigger things might happen if you keep stressing about it.

If you lost dear things, report it and get close to the person to whom it’s related — Apologize, spend time with them, and cheer up. Not everything’s in your control. You will hopefully prevent a potential misunderstanding.

#4 Dream of a hole in the sun

Myth:

A hole in the Sun or seeing an eclipse is said to bring death to the dreamer.

Logic:

Nothing until today has predicted death to that accuracy.

Death is inevitable and comes unplanned like all the troubles in life. Many people die in a day, without seeing any eclipse or holes. There is no compulsion, and nothing can stop impending death. So, if you see a hole in the sun, find the time to fill in the holes in your life.

#5. Tendency to Over laugh

Photo by Denis Agati on Unsplash

Myth:

If you laugh a lot, you will have to cry a lot afterward. Over laughing brings unstoppable tears.

Logic:

If you laugh now, you have to stop at a point, or you are in serious trouble. The tendency to over-laugh denotes a psychological problem and requires treatment.

There is no calculation on how much you laugh and how much you have to cry. So, if you are laughing a lot, and still under control, you’re doing great. Laughing is a good exercise for the mind and the body.

Nobody has ever kept a record of how much you laugh, and how much you’ll pay the debt by crying.

#6. Bad visions

Myth:

Visions and premonitions often are bad. They’ll bring you trouble similar to what you see.

Logic:

Visions are seen when the brain is extremely tired, drugged or when the conscious mind falls asleep right away. Visions are also a way to daydream.

They could be hallucinations, premonitions, or Deja VU. They can be extremely scary and stressful.

If you see any visions that seem beyond normal, see your doctor immediately. It could signal an impaired brain, tumors, Parkinson’s disease, overstress, or other psychological causes.

#7. Quick and extreme hunger

Myth:

If you feel hungry immediately after eating, you’ll fall sick.

Logic:

Feeling quick hunger after eating is quick dissipation of energy. It can signal that you’re diet is inadequate in volume.

Moreover, if there is a tendency to eat, again and again, there might be a hormone issue like leptin resistance. Though it is good to see for issues, this tendency often goes away without harm.

#8. Pets abnormal behavior

Myth:

If your pet is blocking your way, biting you when you’re doing something or leaving somewhere- something bad will happen.

Logic:

Pets like dogs and cats conceive the world differently. They have better cognitive and sensory functions. There are instances where dogs have saved the life of their owners, by stopping them when they were about to travel. But that could not always be the case.

If your pet is showing abnormal behavior or attacks you, something is troubling it. The pet could be sick, have sensed a danger nearby, or are trying to tell you something is going wrong.

Inability to speak is forcing the poor animal to knack you in its ways. If any such thing happens, do not kick it, but examine it carefully, and the direction it is signaling. If not, it’s a good idea to rush the animal to health service right away.

#9. Firefly inside your room

Photo by Tony Phan on Unsplash

Myth:

Fireflies carry spirits. A firefly entering your room signals an evil spirit entering your house.

Logic:

Fireflies glow in the dark. They are a bunch of land stars twinkling at night. Spirits do not need a ride from fireflies if they exist.

Also, evil spirits are said to stay away from bright things like light. So a firefly entering your room is simply a lost insect. Just show it your window so that it could exit and join its glowing friends.

#10. Dreams of crematory

Photo by davide ragusa on Unsplash

Myth:

If you dream of a crematory, it is calling you. You or someone you love is going to die.

Logic:

A crematory is a place where the dead are buried. It is feared, but in reality, is the gateway to heaven. Your dream could be due to the fear of death and dying things — Thanatophobia. Nearly every person has natural anxiety about death and that’s the reason the fear chases in our dreams.

If you see a crematory in your dream- pay a visit today and offer flowers to your ancestors. The calling, if any will be fulfilled right away.

#11. Dog howling at night

Photo by Marek Szturc on Unsplash

Myth:

Dogs howling at night call death in the neighborhood for family.

Logic:

Dogs are sensitive animals. They are left out in cold during winter, soak up in rain during the monsoon, and often are dehydrated during summers. They have a reason to cry/ howl at night.

If a dog howls nearby, there’s a good chance it’s hungry. Give it some food and water. They will stop howling and go back to sleep. For the myth of death, dogs can surely see if a burglar is coming, not death.

The sound is scary of course.

12#. Cats crossing your path

Photo by Pacto Visual on Unsplash

Myth:

A cat crossing your path is evil, an extreme misfortune. It will ruin your day.

Logic:

A poor cat is an animal and belongs to this world. Where would it go if all the humans begin seeing misfortune in it?

Like every animal, it has the right to live in peace in this world, and of course the right to cross the street. Has any cat ever asked about your paycheck? It hasn’t. It only wants to live and eat. Don’t envy cats so much for their freedom.
